Atria Almaden is a very clean community and the house keeping ladies are just lovely - that is one of the things I love about Atria I have never seen anything messy or out of place. The staff members know all of our names which I cannot believe it - they are very courteous, nice, joyful and they always have a smile on their face - that is another things we love about Atria. The dining and meals are one of the most important things to us in this stage of our lives - there has never been a day that I have gone to the dining hall and something be bad. There service is just wonderful, the kitchen staff is perfect and they always greet us when we enter the dining hall. They are very patient with us when we order and always explain the menu to us and any other specials they may have. The activities are fantastic - there is almost everything you can think of, there is always something to do from exercise classes, movie nights, arts and crafts. Overall I am very happy here I am been here for quite sometime - but they have struggled with hiring a manager that stays consistently so something's are haphazard. [name removed] does a wonderful job in the kitchen - sometimes the meals come out cold but he is currently working on fixing that problem. Overall based on the experience I have had I would recommend Atria Almaden to other families .

We arrived at Altria Almaden at lunch time for a quickly arranged tour, which we appreciated, since we were to be in the area for a brief period. First off was lunch for me and my wife with [name removed] (sales counselor). Food selection was very broad and very high quality. Looking for Independent Living accommodations, the facility offered the two bedroom unit we had in mind. They offer every conceivable entertainment and activity to engage in during the day. The facilities are new. They are definitely a place to consider if you like high rise living.

The director turnover is like a revolving door. The caregivers are understaffed during the 6A-2P Shift. Sometimes there's only 1 working for the entire facility.

I toured Atria Almaden, and it was very luxurious. They really appealed to the family members; but Atria gave me the impression that they would not take someone with my moms level of need. I later found out that if a person even needs oxygen, they couldn't be there. They were not geared to handle or accommodate advanced medical needs. The community was very fancy-schmancy; but not a good fit for us.
I thought Atria Almaden seemed very nice. My parents didn’t like it as much because it was in a very busy neighborhood. But my wife and I really liked it.
Many of us residents are having problems with water retention. The food, especially the soups have to much sodium!

Our mom has only been here 3 days and so far so good. She does not want to be here, as she lived in her home for 58 years. . . But she is warming up to the place!

When Atria is fully up and running with COVID protocols, it will be fantastic. It is wonderful now. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. More activities are being added all the time.
