This place is great. The staff is pretty friendly, overall. They always treat my aunt with respect and care. There's not as much diversity as we'd like and it can be a little uncomfortable at times with the residents. And uncomfortable for me when I visit. The facility is clean, the marketing person is very helpful. Maintenance is pretty good. Overall, its been a good experience here. The food is good, but more variety would be great. My aunt says the meals are repetitive often. Her room has a nice view, has a stove and refrigerator. Communication with the family could improve, I have to reach out to them, they don't call me. But overall, a good choice for my aunt. I would recommend them to family and friends.

It has been pretty good experience so far. I chose this place because, it was closer to home and the least expensive. I was very impressed with the place and people. It's a very nice place. Sometimes the food is good, and other times it's okay.

The facility is mostly clean and well maintained. The carpets are very old and could use use a little updating. When my loved one first got there, she needed a lot of services, and we have since pared those down due to cost, as well as other reasons. She wouldn't ask for the help she needed when she needed it. She also wasn't getting the help showering and dressing that we were paying for. The services we did get were great. We just weren't getting all of them initially. Everybody there has been very, very nice. But I feel like we're getting nickeled and dimed. Their care services are a la carte, and that adds up quickly. We wish there was another option for pricing. The staff are wonderful though. They're very friendly and have gone out of their way to help my loved one feel welcome. They've gone out of their way to communicate with her with her hearing issues - writing on her white board, etc. She's very happy with the food, which is much better than a different facility she was at. If you don't like what they're serving, there are other options available. They advertise that snacks are available during the day, but don't provide them. They usually don't waive fees for food delivery to the room, even for serious medical reasons. They have worked with us and waived the delivery fee but are still charging a $(amount removed) packaging fee per delivery. In essence, it's a reduced delivery fee. But again, that adds up, and I wish they would just bring it to her. All in all, they offer good activities and services. They do her laundry and clean her apartment. The food is good They're very nice to her. It's expensive, but it gives us peace of mind.

They did not meet all of my needs, and I certainly couldn't afford their prices.
I like Brookdale Quincy Bay very much and my loved one is getting good care. I do wish that they would do something with the food, the quality could be improved and they could offer more of a variety, my loved one is limited on what she is able to eat. They are short staffed but that is an issue everywhere. She has some great aids during the day that she loves. I would absolutely recommend them to others looking.
The staff are very friendly. Some of their activities include parties and yoga. They could improve on their dining services, but the best thing about them are their CNA's and especially the front desk lady, as well as the laundry personnel. The hands on staff are very friendly. The corporate marketing team were also very helpful in coordinating my moms services for external agencies like physical therapy.

We recently moved back to eating in the dining room, so it's been interesting to meet people in that venue. I'm on the 1 meal a day program, and because they just reopened the dining room,(it was limited due to previous Covid restrictions), it's been a very pleasant experience. They provide a written menu, from which you can select from multiple different entrees, side dishes and desserts. They provide us with soft drinks, water, or coffee. We tend to sit at the same table, so you get to know your table mates well. We also receive waitress/waiter service at the table during meal time. I'd say if there's anything I find somewhat lacking here at Brookdale; it would be a dedicated exercise facility with workout equipment. I would definitely use that if it was available to me, but it isn't available at this moment. It may be coming at some point in time, but I haven't confirmed with the staff yet. In regards to the activities; despite the absence of an exercise facility, I think they do a good job at organizing activities. There are quite a few that I haven't gotten into the swing of attending regularly; but the ones I have attended were a lot of fun, and made me want to come back for more. My favorite thing about living here, because I am a people's person, would have to be interacting with other individuals here. Whether it's during meals and activities, or in common areas where people congregate. Overall I would recommend Brookdale Quincy Bay to others - try it, you'll like it.

I would move into Brookdale myself if I could afford it. The staff are nice, the food is good, and there are a lot of activities offered. They take the residents on outings to the mall and other places. You can play cards, or participate in group or individual activities. Each week there's a bulletin program where you can see all the activities they're going to have. They have guests who come in too, it's really a nice place. My friend is there and she's trying to take advantage of all the activities. I'm trying to motivate her to interact and engage as she can be a bit shy. I took a look at the food menu and they have a lot of good things I like. They serve coconut shrimp, fish, and different salads & soups. They give you the option of soup or salad, a main dish, two sides, and 3 different options for dessert. For drinks they have water, sodas, coffee, tea, and juice. You can mix and match, and eat what you want. I've also tasted it before and it was good, it wasn't bland. Overall I would definitely recommend Brookdale to others.

Our mother really seems to be enjoying all of the activities that are being offered, however they could work on their communication. It is not the best with everything, but when it comes to their specific services that is where the communication could be improved.

Response from Brookdale Quincy Bay
April 7, 2022Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
We went with Brookdale Quincy Bay because of the location and he also was able to get his own private outdoor balcony. The room sizes are very nice and spacious. He loves the meals as well. Overall the staff work really hard to make all of the residents happy. The onboarding process was a little bumpy, but I think it was covid related. Everything is working out great so far. I would recommend to others looking

Due to our loved one constant falling - to no fault of the community, she spent a lot of time away from Brookdale. However during her stay we thought all the staff were extremely responsive to her needs. Anytime there was an issue or another fall they would call us immediately to let us know what happened and how serious the situation is. We appreciated that they brought her down to the meals to mingle with the other residents. The staff were just super friendly and we felt very happy and safe having her there.
I toured Brookdale Quincy Bay and it was a good tour, but the building itself looks older and had more wear and tear on it.

February 11, 2022We want to thank you for your feedback and please know it will be reviewed and used to better serve our residents and their families in the future.
Brookdale Quincy Bay is a great place. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure the residents feel good. It is a terrific community. There are types of exercise classes, music, trivia, card games, Wii bowling, arts and crafts, and more for the residents to participate in for activities.

Our family was able to have an in person tour, it was during the height of covid so we had to gown up and mask up, it was not their fault they were following protocols but ti was just overwhelming. However our loved one right off the bat did not feel like this was the place. The building itself is a little imposing a big, it is also more in an urban area so not to much landscaping or big grounds. We were looking at other communities and we could just picture our loved one somewhere else, and not here.

September 15, 2021We are sorry to hear your tour of Brookdale Quincy Bay did not meet your expectations. We would like to thank you for taking the time to visit and provide feedback.
The community is located close to shopping and it's within walking distance. The community is working on some upgrades to the facility including new appliances. They offer services to help with everyday tasks. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Brookdale because we needed a place quickly and they had availability. We had no issues with the tour, but we feel they should not have accepted him because of his condition. There were some times where we think they could have done more for him and did not. It was tough for him to get around in his wheelchair and the units are not really set up for handicap residents. I would tell others to take a close look at what the needs are and what the facility is offering.
