Brookdale The Heights

I’ve lived here for a year and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I enjoy taking daily morning walks, there’s beautiful outdoor space. The food is better than I expected and it’s just been nice to have more people to socialize with.

The value for the cost at this community is very good. They have activities like a cowboy day, they also have puzzle activities and more for the residents to do to stay occupied and busy in the community. The staff try very hard, I feel like at times they may have been stretched thin but they all try really hard in the community with the residents.

My brother needed a place to recover from several medical issues and in a short time we found Brookdale Heights and their team who guided us through the set up process, loaned furniture and made him feel right at home. We highly recommend Brookdale Heights for the caring staff, lovely setting and good meals.

The caring nature of the staff. Everybody goes above and beyond and everyone is there to help. The food is nutritional and tastes good. I feel if I do have concerns they’re addressed in a timely manner. I truly don’t think my mom could be at any other place; this is the 4th place my mom has lived in and by far the best. This is about as close to a family as a community can get.

Visit was very informative without pressure. The food was excellent and they went beyond for us. The place is beautiful with lots of natural light and very clean.

If you have the financial resources to place your loved one here, this would be my first choice. The community was able to guide me through the process and give me resources to make the right decisions for my loved one. The staff were very proactive to respond to any situation when I had questions or concerns about.

Mom tells everyone that this is the best place for her to be…close enough to her kids but not living with them. Regardless of her “advanced” age, she wants to maintain her independence. She says the staff is great, the food is good and she loves her apartment. Knowing she is happy and safe (and close by) makes Brookdale a great choice for our family.

The staff are very friendly and approachable. The outside grounds are beautiful, green, and well kept. Plus, it’s always nice to visit the chickens.

They need to improve on their management of medical, medication distribution, and transportation for the residents. They need to have a van with a lift to accommodate the residents in wheelchairs. The communication with the staff could be improved as well. Stephanie the director is great. Anyone other than her, you will need to call multiple times to get an answer or check up to make sure your loved one's needs are met. This is a clean and safe community for your loved one.

I would recommend this community based on my experience

I have nothing bad to say about Brookdale. I think with the pandemic they have done the very best they can. The staff from top to bottom are great and do what it takes to help and they are very friendly. Make sure you are a big part of a loved one's life after move-in. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

There was some communication glitches from time to time where we did not feel that we got strong enough communication regarding our loved one during this time. With covid we expected the communication to be even better.

I really like the way the community is laid out. We have my mother in law in a companion room so this help with the cost. They have been really proactive regarding her care, they have her set up with hospice so she is getting extra help and care and it also helps with the cost of some of her products. They have been really good with communication. They are are always very quick to respond and get back to me when I call. I don't have to worry now that she is at Brookdale.

Loved the greenspace and the openness of the community. Happy that it has Assisted Living and Memory Care. Appreciated all the porches and garden areas. The residents looked happy and comfortable. Access to the community is fairly easy from our home, only 10 miles away.

My mother was unable to get into Brookdale Heights, but is at Brookdale Shadowlake. We hope to move her when/if space becomes available.

Toured facility after Harvey and it suffered flood damage and roof damage. Besides that the facility is not cared for which leads me to wonder about how they care for their residents. I was sadly disappointed.

In general, I am very pleased with my loved one's stay at Brookdale The Heights. I do think that the office personnel could use improvement on their customer service skills and their follow up with families, but otherwise, the staff is helpful, the food always looks very good and very nutritional, the community is kept very clean, they offer a good amount of activities for the residents, and I love that the community is close to my home.

When we toured this community for my sister we found the staff to be caring for our needs. The community was clean and the environment was nice.We liked the list of the good meals on the menu They offer activities for the residents who are able to participate. We would recommend other families to this community for the care of a loved one.
