We chose Sunrise Villa because they had a very good plan for social pods during the pandemic so people still got to know each other and it was always the same group of people and less isolation. The room sizes here vary, her first room was small and she had a noise issue but they found a bigger room for her and took care of the problem and now it is a very nice size. I have a family member who lives at this place and we were fooled by the nice-looking facade. The caregivers do not know what they are doing, and the activity department just lost their most talented team members. This place has been going downhill ever since Oakmont took over. The only nice thing is the nice-looking building and the patios.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a really good experience we just did not see anybody around the community
This community was not as well managed as the choice that we were looking at for my loved one. I did not feel like they were the match that we were looking for.

My loved had a unique circumstance, and the staff really bent over backwards to accommodate her. The staff has been fantastic in communicating with me and listening to my concerns. My loved one wanted to return home, but if she would go back, I would be happy to have them care for her again. I feel like she's not as safe at home. It was a fantastic experience as far as feeling like I found a good place for her. She had friends. She at the food. She was safe. There was a beauty salon there. I felt like they kept a good eye on her. I also felt like they were very attentive to the issues around Covid.
From what we can see of the lobby area, it is really clean. Our loved one really enjoys the meals, and even though the activities are very limited due to the restrictions she is still enjoying what they have to offer. We think the value is fair, our loved one is happy and being well taken care of.

They have completely remodeled this very uniquely laid out facility. The common spaces are large and very welcoming. The staff are professional and kind. The community is quite diverse engaged and friendly. My parents love the food! Great westside, convenient LA location.

Wonderful! Everything was clean, bright and inviting. [Removed] was a joy to talk to. The one bedroom was perfect. I'm hoping to have my Mom see it soon.

We toured at Sunrise Villa and loved it. It's a very cozy community with fireplaces and nice sitting areas. However, the rooms were smaller than we would have liked and they type of care my loved one needed at the time was more intensive than they were able to provide.

When mom first moved into this community it was great. It was owned by a family and it was family oriented. Once the new owners took over things changed. They cut the staff and the prices went up. They started to nickel and dime everything. They did not seem to care about the residents as much as the previous owners. We did move mom out of this community due to this.

This tour was nice, I was not happy to know that the staff changes a lot. The residents did not seem active. The community is clean, but the rooms are smaller and seem like a hotel. This community has no green space to enjoy. The menu is an appealing. I recommend families tour this community. They need more outdoor area for the residents to enjoy.

I am sorry to have to write this review but it feels like the right thing to do, in order to warn other people who may be looking at this facility. We were looking for a place in the Westside area for my mother-in law towards the end of last year, and settled upon Grandview after looking at quite a few facilities. My mother-in-law was accepted in what they call the VIP unit, which is for Memory Care patients, in mid-Januayy 2015. It seemed like an easy transition but she was quite reluctant at first to come out of her room, and preferred to stay inside with the door locked which worried me. Within a month, she had been found on the floor of her room a couple of times, one time sustaining a rib fracture and a compression fracture of one of her lumbar vertebra. She started having physical therapy after this and they transitioned her from walking, quite unsteadily, unassisted, to a walker, which seemed to work well for her. When her physical therapist came to see her at the very end of March for an appointment she noticed that she could not walk at all and there had been a dramatic change. The staff just said she wouldn't get out of a chair and use her walked 'all weekend' but it seemed no-one had stopped to think why and there was no 'incident report'. I got her transferred to hospital ( in discussion with the private therapist-who was fantastic-not employed by the home). She had completely fracture her hip (femoral head) and had major surgery to repair it. She has gone through a hard rehab month and we are moving her into a new facility next week. To this day, no-one at Grandview can tell me how she broke her hip and why no-one got an assessment when she was suddenly in pain and could not walk the weekend before this was discovered. SO WORRYING. As a physician myself, I have to say I could not recommend sending any ambulatory person to the Memory Care unit of this facility. She sustained 3 fractures in 2 and a half months while there, and had never had a fracture in her life before this and was living in her own home before moving there. I could add more, such as having to remind staff to wash her hair when it had clearly been dirty for some days. Her physician told us in no uncertain terms "[removed]".

For both: The Grandview was smaller and more intimate than the Gardens in SM. Crystal gave us the tour, and she was wonderful! Kind, caring, and knowledgeable. The place seemed clean and the residents seemed well cared for. The one bedroom apartment seemed a little small-ish, but the resident had a lot of furniture. The two-bedroom was lovely and spacious.

This one was very nice but again, higher end dollars. It's comparable to the others we looked at in what they offer and the price but we found one that would give us a discount on the first month.
