Lorelton. Quite a place, if you’re elderly and need some assistance. My brother [name removed] is still acclimatizing to Lorelton, after nearly eighty years of living on his own. In his second year, he serves on a committee or two and can always get the ear of the Director, and the Chiefs of Operations. Kind of hard to get them to change stuff, but they listen to him. And they care about him. His aches and his troubles. [He] can talk to a nurse, talk to a cook, and they listen too. Lorelton is quite the place to live, if you’re old and need some help getting around. Just ask the folks who live there.... Read more

September 14, 2022Thank you very much for your wonderful review!
My father has been in the memory care village at the Lorelton for a little over a month. The difference compared to when he was living in my home is night and day--he sleeps at night and he engages with other people during the day, where before he had mostly sleepless nights and aimless, disoriented days. The staff pays close attention to his needs and make him feel like a valued part of the community. The building is charming, spotlessly clean and airy. This was the best decision we've made with respect to my father's care. He is 90, soon to be 91.

September 14, 2022That is wonderful news and very inspiring, thank you so much for your kind words.
My great aunt fell in love with The Lorelton and has enjoyed the entirety of her stay. The Lorelton offers excellence in its core services – principally nursing support – and very teamwork united supported staff too. Everyone’s attitude at the Lorelton is quite positive, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy the many activities in a safe and relaxing manner. It’s a truly great environment.

The staff at the Lorelton are very kind and patient. [name removed] the director, goes out of his way to keep the air quality at the Lorelton as virus free as possible. In these pandemic days, this is an important plus for us. The apartments are spacious and full of light and have a great feel to them. My Dad loves all the guest entertainers that come.

My mom is coming up on 5 years at Lorelton. Since she arrived, there have been many physical improvements to the building with more in the works. Because it's relatively small, everyone knows my mom and everyone is beyond kind and patient with her. I'm confident that she's safe and that there is no place more appropriate to her needs.

Sometimes you have a difficult decision to make, review a number of alternatives and then are left with a choice. Such was the case with Assisted Living facilities in the Wilmington area earlier this year. But one facility, especially the leadership and staff of one, stood out as best - The Lorelton. And it has been nothing but terrific for our family in every dimension - nursing, doctors, food, activities, physical support and more - but most of all the very positive attitudes matching the professionalism of everyone associated with The Lorelton. Serendipity applies.

We had a great tour experience with The Lorelton, they answered all of our questions and showed us everything we wanted to see. We just felt another facility we saw was going to suit my loved ones needs better.

I toured the Lorelton and had a good tour experience. we chose another community because the Lorelton's memory care until was very small.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. They are welcoming, open, and friendly to the residents and guests. The communication with the staff is good anytime I have questions or concerns. A lot of the activities have been suspended due to the spike over the holidays. There is a bus to take the residents to different places, and they are having special celebrations in the community.

Good community, not the right fit.
Lorelton is a very nice facility. We have a loved one who lived here and our only issue was the parking. We also felt the security was not the best.
Response from Lorelton
February 2, 2022I am very sorry you felt that way about the security. We have a person at our front desk 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I don't know of any other facility that does that. Not even skilled nursing facilities do that.
Even though I don't think I'm ready for assisted living, I'm glad my son chose the Lorelton. They treat me really well,
My daughter and I did a lot of research before I moved in here. The Lorelton was always at the top of the list. I'm so glad this is where I landed.
A sincere thank you to The Lorelton, the staff, and management for their excellent care of Dad during the last few years he was with us. They treated him with love, respect and kindness. Thank You!

Since my aunt has been a resident in the memory care unit, all I can say is the staff is very nurturing. I had my self doubt about putting her in a facility, thinking I could still manage her care by myself. Since her time there , these past few months has truly helped her feel safe and secure. She loves the staff and the new friends she has made under their care. No more worrying about her wandering at night, stairs in my house that she may fall or answering the door, if I’m not home. The Lorelton has given her a safe haven to live her life, interacting with others every day.

October 18, 2021Hearing this makes us very happy! Thank you!
My brother Tom left his home at age 79 after a six month series of hospitalizations and rehabilitations. He took one look at Lorelton and knew the 1930’s Lore School infrastructure was beyond anything he had seen at other community and would uniquely define his new permanent home. When he has an issue, he can walk from his apartment to speak to someone who can fix it. He has interacted regularly with the Director, the Business Manager, the Chief Nurse, the Chief Chef, and the Chief Phone Lady. They all know Tom. They care about him, and each helps him whenever he is in a tough spot. What stands out as he roams about Lorelton is that he encounters lots of staff and lots of residents who are out and about in the hallways, doing stuff Lorelton’s strength is that they are one of a kind. Singular, and in charge. For the good of their residents.

I am POA for a gentleman who needs special care and resides in Lore Village at The Lorelton. The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable and caring. The facility itself is very clean and has a very homey feel. The Lorelton has had an excellent record during the height of the pandemic and always put the residents first.
