Our family had an in person tour and the facility is very nice and the people we met with all seemed like good folks. The tour experience was great but when they did an assessment of our loved one they tried to say our loved one needed a higher level of care which was incorrect so we know this was not the place for our loved one

The people at this place genuinely care about their patients and families. Always a pleasure to work with them!
The Sunrise at Hillcrest was beautiful. The tour was wonderful. They played card games, they had puzzles out, they had a workout room, the menu looked wonderful too.

Very attentive staff, and they have all been there for several years. They really love Sunrise and because of that, the residents are happy and feel loved. My mom does!

When my parents needed a community that could handle their needs, a friend recommended Sunrise at Hillcrest. The staff, from the Director [name removed], on down to the caregivers have been wonderful to my parents. The staff always has a smile and a helping hand in the day to day activities. [name removed] is a real asset to the Sunrise on Hillcrest community. She along with the entire staff treat my parents as if they were "their" parents. For that reason, my family is very happy we found Sunrise at Hillcrest!

My deepest need was neither happiness nor perfection.. Three years ago when I began my search for the last chapter of my life (with a television ad from A Place for Mom) I bless that day I walked into Hillcrest Sunrise. At Hillcrest Sunrise I found dignity, love, care, and a full measure of creature comforts—in a word, contentment.

Our family had an in person tour and even though the staff team giving the tour was wonderful, we could not wait to get out of there. It was just older and really did not give off that warm and welcoming feeling to it.

Lovely staff, needs updating and they had small rooms.
They are currently understaffed here.. It is a nice looking community. The staff seem friendly to the residents and families. It would be helpful for the staff to monitor the call buttons more effectively.

We were referred to Sunrise Hillcrest by {name removed} senior living associates as a potential '' good fit'' for my wheelchair bound mother in law. We toured the properly and were very impressed with the staff the curriculum. The facility. She has been there one month and we are all very pleased.
My father moved to Sunrise in August. He was not happy to be moving to Assisted Living. My brothers and I were very concerned that he would not settle in. Within One week he had made several new friends and one day when I stopped by he was playing balloon volleyball with the group!! We feel so lucky to have found this new home for him.
My mother has lived in two other assisted livins prior to moving to Sunrise. We now know why Sunrise was recommended to us by so many people! Our sales person was top-notch, walked us through the process and eased our minds of another move for our mom. The caregivers treat our mother as if she is their own and they are now part of our family.
We didn’t like the room layout. But we liked pretty much everything else about it.
They say a lot of nice things before you move in. After you move in, they do not have adequate, trained staff. They are not around. They do not care. [Name removed] does fabulous with the activities schedule. But the "care" is worse than bad. My father is still recovering from the horrible care he received while in their care. I would say he aged 20 years while in their care for less than 3 months. Moreover, my complaint list is too long to fit in any provided box.

The community was very helpful and very good to our family and our loved one. The food was enjoyed by loved one. I was able to eat with my loved one a few times and I enjoyed the food as well. Some of the activities that I saw were available for residents were lectures, games, and other activities for residents to participate in.

Lovely place, adorable community Pup, Jaegar. The staff was courteous and caring to a point. I caution people who need assistance due to immobility because the aides are only supposed to do the minimum: make beds, give showers, and change diapers. That’s it. I never could get anyone to do simple tasks such as hanging up clothing from the laundry. I wound up with piles of clothing on every seat which was to be used for visiting guests. I was being nickel and dimes to death by hidden charges. For example: I asked the maintenance lady if she would please hang an expensive painting on the wall to get it off of the floor. She’d do it for $25.00. Common courtesy was sorely lacking. I finally moved because they didn’t believe I was capable of monitoring my own medications. I may be in a wheelchair but my mind is still sharp. The reason I chose to live at Sunrise was because the marketing director mentioned to me that I would save a big junk of money by monitoring my own meds. Two of their employees, a nurse and the new wellness director, came to do a reassessment when I was scheduled to return “home” from rehab. It came up that I had never been cleared medically and that the monitoring of medication was suggested by the marketing director. I was only able to live there because the issue of medication was approved. I got wind off the medication concerns from the social worker at what is now my new home. I will be pursuing a refund of the $1500.00 I paid because had I known about the medication concerns I NEVER would have chosen to live there because it was out of my price range. I think ethically, which won’t matter to institutions out to make the most money possible, that I’m owed, along with the deposit, the $1000.00 it cost to move me. I don’t know what the expectations are for assisted living B but I urge individuals with mobility issues to be very, very careful to include tasks you can’t do in your decision making process. The Hoyer wasn’t enough to meet my needs. I’m in a new facility, the Villages of Lake Highlands, now which is the polar opposite of Sunrise...within an hour of my arrival, my art pieces were hung. One of the owners did some work on my tv. If asked, I will not be suggesting Sunrise as a caring place to live. My experience was all about profit with no room for kindness and true caring.
