I felt like everyone genuinely cared about my father's well being, from the receptionists to the aides to the managers and especially the nurses. Very helpful in getting him settled in. This is perfect for my Dad. If you are looking for lots of choices and activities, you may not like this place. This is close to where we live. Everyone is very pleasant here. It is all on one level. That has made it easy to see him. They seemed short staffed a few times due to covid. My Dad is in much better shape here than he was at home. We are pretty satisfied. Emails and phone calls is how the staff communicate with the family. They have a facebook page you can see things going on that are posted daily. This is a locked memory unit. He really loves the food and the options for each meal. They have a path outside so the residents can go for walks or have their lunch outside weather permitting.

They were very good about the move-in process and are really helpful. There seems to be a lot of staff around, which I like. The workers seem truly caring. I like that they have my loved one outside of her room for the most part, so she's not isolated and they can keep an eye on here. So we're really happy with that aspect of the care.

The staff are all friendly and helpful. They seem to have activities almost every day for the residents. They have badminton with a balloon, they have trivia, and a couple other activities. I would highly recommend this community.

The staff is very nice from top to bottom, from the people that clean to the administrative staff. They'll answer any questions you have, and they'll help you with anything. They listen and follow up. I like the fact that I don't have to do anything when I go there. My loved one's room room is already clean, his bed is made, his bathroom is clean, his clothes are hung up. It's a much better situation than when he was at home, where you had to worry about where you were going to sit amongst the mess. He's always clean and dressed when we go in, sitting up and reading. The common areas are always clean as well. He has his privacy, but socialization is there and available if he wants or needs it. The housekeeping staff is really nice, and he enjoys talking with them. We've ben very impressed with the food, not at all like stereotypical nursing home food. He enjoys every bit of it, and they offer a couple of choices at each meal. When I was visiting once at dinnertime, they brought me coffee and a salad , and would have fed me dinner too. And then they brought me dessert too, which I thought was very nice. I think the cost is high, and I wasn't expecting all the ala carte, add-on costs for little extras - haircuts, medication assistance, etc. We even had to pay for furniture for the room. I might feel more at ease with the cost as he ends up needing more care down the road. But he seems very comfortable there.

We chose The Atrium at Faxon Woods because it was recommended to us and it just seemed like it would be the best fit. It was the best value for the money and it felt like they were really trying to meet our needs. Everyone here is extremely friendly and everyone knows my name. My friends mom is here and her mom tells her that she makes her feel like she is the only one here. I would absolutely recommend to others looking I am able to visit 2-3 times a week inside.

My grandfather recently passed away, but before that he was in the Atrium for about 10 months. In that time, the “care” he received at the Atrium was absolutely disgusting. The staff are too busy talking to each other and looking at their phones to even notice what’s happening with the residents. Any time they need to do anything—whether getting a blanket or a glass of water for a resident—they sigh obnoxiously and try to find a reason not to do it. I’ve seen them grab residents. I’ve seen them scream at residents. There is absolutely no respect. If you haven’t seen this article, I can assure you that not much has changed since then: [removed]

My husband had difficulty getting comfortable with his new situation. He's been there for 4 months now and he is so very much better with the routine. All of the staff worked very hard to make it right for him. They spent hours brainstorming what would work for him and never gave up. Also, the food is awesome and he loves his food!

I had my mother live here for 4 months. They make a good sales pitch, but fall very short in delivery. Within two weeks they suggested I hire a private one-on-one for my mother because the staff couldn't care for her. The issue was not my mother (since she lived in two other assisted living facilities with no problems before this) - the issue is lack of properly trained staff to redirect typical dementia behaviors (even though they present themselves as specializing in this). They also sent my mother out to the ER twice - once because a staff member didn't have the skill to redirect her and the second time because she had a UTI because they didn't toilet her enough. This is a recurring problem here - this was confirmed by the medical team that works with the Atrium. The last straw was when I discovered bruises all over my mother and they denied any responsibility and I even caught them in a lie trying to cover themselves - we moved out immediately. My mother is in a much better assisted living facility now and has no issues what so ever. Please don't fall for the sales pitch - this place is terrible. They don't have the trained staff to handle dementia residents and the Resident Care Director is very incompetent.

My husband was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease when he was 54 years old. When his symptoms became worse and the disease progressed to the middle stages, I struggled with attending to his needs. Thankfully, after my husband was sent to Atrium at Faxon Woods I was able to relieve my stress as the staff there were very professional and supportive. They helped my husband transition smoothly into his new living space, which was spacious and designed specifically for patients in need of memory care. They also provided assistance in the form of onsite doctors, dental and hair salon services, and a variety of healthy meals during my husband’s time at Atrium. I am thankful that he received a great deal of attention and care there.

[Removed] was very thorough and friendly. It is a beautiful facility and the staff is very invested. Both my husband and I felt that it was not stimulating enough for my mother is has mild dementia. This is not the one for her, but it is a lovely place for someone who is more involved

I'am comfortable with my mothers move to this community. It is working out well for her, and her needs. They have a good staff, and they are providing her good care. I know she is safe, and in good hands in this facility. She is doing well since her move here, and I would recommend this community to my friends.

As I drove into the community I from the main road, the sign is broken and in need of repair. When I toured the community I didn't like it as much. It was not comparable to another community I also toured. I also observed and could tell they had a new manager that is inexperienced.

I like that my aunt is in this community and doing well. Everything is designed for memory care, from the lighting, to the open spaces and design. We like that they do offer different care level packages based on the needs of the residents. She is happy with the meals and the variety. There are activities offered all day and she does enjoy participating. The community is clean, secure, and well maintained. the staff is always nice and very caring. We would recommend this community for the care and the value.

The best people treating the best people with love and respect. The expansive indoor and outdoor opportunities, the delicious food, and the feeling of home, friends and family made my mom happier than she had been in years. With great programs and available in house services: (dentistry, medical, hairdressing and finally hospice), there was no better place for my mom. Go visit and you will see!
