The Tradition - Buffalo Speedway

We have had a very good experience so far with The Tradition, we have heard no complaints for our loved one about the meals and dining. We have heard the activities are very good and we would recommend this community to other families.

Staffing unprofessional staff. No staff available to answer the side door in the early morning hours. Reception very rude and unprofessional. Contact worker left outside waiting to enter the building for 30 to 40 minutes. Nursing staff rude and nonchalant.

Mom went from independent to respite to hospital. While in hospital, asked to meet w/ care team. Mtg consisted of 3 admins, including VP of Dallas/Houston, vp of Houston, director of marketing, and the director of nursing (new to the job 2 weeks, had minor contact with my mom). They discussed admit to ass’d living/memory care, tho recently admitted to hospital. 1. if mom needs >than 8 meds including vitamins, Tylenol, hand lotion, and chapstick since she could eat it….xtra fee 2. suggested 24 hr care provided by licensed rn agency that I’d pay. Still xtra fee “in case didn’t show”. 3. suggested independent living w/ 24 hr agency licensed rn care. If attempted, VP would call ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICE. Never recommend company. They blindside you when your loved one is acutely ill to discuss costs and administration under the guise of “care team”compassion. The use of intimidation and bullying highlights their lack of empathy for family members during a difficult time.

Speedyway is a great place with wonderful staff . they have this like creampie place for seniors here and it's wonderful . The management is awesome and the cooking staff work really hard to get all those meals up to the seniors overall I highly recommend this Senior Living for anybody looking to bring their elderly here it's very organized it's very clean and you just can't go against it it's such a such good place

My mom is at rehab right now and the staff here go above and beyond for her. They call us to check on her and offer to take her meals, they are like family to us. She absolutely loves the food, they also offer an optional menu if you do not like what is being served. It is very quality food, they offer things like crab cakes, steaks, etc. They have tons of activities provided for residents as well, there is always something going on. It is a smaller community so the individualized care is great from staff. They are very good about making you feel important. The staff double masks and wear shields and there has not been a single case of covid here. All residents have already had both rounds of their shots here as well, they are very safe and careful. I would highly recommend this facility.

How can I start! The Traditions is my mothers life saver. We really needed help moving my mother and it seemed like an impossible task. We are in the middle of Covid 19 and she needed to be moved. As I scratched my head, the phone rang and it was [name removed] from The Traditions...well, what can I say, she is my hero! She made everything happen and as Im writing this she is still helping us. My Mom loves The Traditions! She feels very safe and truly happy. The entire building and grounds are beautiful. It's brand new and my Mom's room is also brand new. The Traditions is also very safe for mom. Her room has motion detectors that learn her routine, so if she falls or something seems off, the nurse is notified. I love this feature, Its not invasive like a camera, but I know if she fell someone would know quickly. She also has a band on her wrist that she pushes if she needs anything. It has a gated security entrance and a concierge for helping out. We have not used them yet because [name removed] is so helpful! As a daughter I could not ask for more.Please know that this is a true referral of how happy our family is at the Traditions.

Our experience was incredible! We had toured every upscale senior living community in Houston and The Tradition was truly gorgeous! Not only is it brand new, the decor is like living at The Four Seasons. Every detail was thought of in this new community. The staff on every level was very professional and accommodating. [Names removed] in leasing were so helpful through the entire process, considering moving in during Covid had it's challenges. [Names removed] actually came to my dad's home to conduct the intake evaluation and have been so helpful with accommodating his transition. The communication has been great. We find it more personal than large corporate communities and any suggestions /feedback are well received. We feel we made the best decision choosing The Tradition!

The Tradition Buffalo Speedway is a beautiful community with warm and compassionate staff. I absolutely love the marketer ([name removed])!

We are so happy to have 94 year old mother at The Tradition. She is very sharp mentally but needs help physically. She is receiving wonderful attention and care from the staff, especially during this Covid 19 crisis. Mom is looking forward to the facility opening it up to new residents soon. Also, the wide selection of menu choices is enjoyed and appreciated.

My families first choice for care for our Mother. It feels more like a resort than retirement home. We moved our Mother from another home because of the energy and brightness of the staff and property. They really stepped up early on their Covid 19 protocols.

Each time I come to the facility or call my answers are given immediately no delay. The staff has been more than friendly and always eager to help. This is definitely one of the nicest safest facilities I’ve encountered in a long time. I’m not sure that I should be making it in May but I will say that [name removed] it’s one of the nicest people always there to Aide when are physicians are in need of something never fails to return a phone call or a text that valuable.

My father was one of the first to move into the Tradition Buffalo Speedway independent living. We loved the community where we had him, but it was too far away. The Tradition is gorgeous and every bit as wonderful, and we are thrilled to have him close by. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and caring. And the food is wonderful! He now is in the assisted living section, and was the first to move into it when it opened. Several of the staff whom he knew from independent living are now at the assisted living section, which was fabulous. He has a beautiful view out his window, and the care partners and nursing staff are great. We love all the staff there! Dad is happy and so are we!

I have been dazzled by Tradition from the first day I walked in, and have become even more impressed with it in the face of the Coronavirus. The people are first rate. Their attention to detail is incredible. Their care for the people that live there is unmatched.

My daughters and I are very happy to have moved my husband into a REAL caring facility. Since my husband has been at The tradition he has gain 10 lbs. The care givers, the nursing staff, the directors and the whole staff are very nice, sweet and caring with the residents. The food is delicious, well presented, everyone is served with care and they make sure residents are not hungry or thirsty. The snacks are good portions, they keep track of what the residents like and dislike. All residents are keep very clean, hydrated and involve in activities. The Tradition on Buffalo Speedway is a great caring place, it's new, lots of day light, beautifully decorated, is kept super clean. The memory care area there is plenty of room for the residents to walk around, they have 3 beautiful living room areas with very comfortable furniture, TVs, 4 activity rooms, the dining area is very clean and very nice, there is a terrace where the residents can go and get fresh air or get some sun if they prefer. I highly recommend The Tradition if you want peace of mind that your love one is properly care for.

I was at first somewhat concerned that my mother would be one of the first residents in the memory care unit. Especially since she was very stubborn about living anywhere other than her house. However, the staff at The Tradition could not have been more accommodating to my setting up her room and providing me with the needed guidance to arranging all the care. My mother instantly took to living in this new place and the staff have continued to provide all the social and other needs she requires. The Tradition provides a wonderful surrounding and safe and secure environment for my mother. She is happy and content, which is very comforting to me. I would highly recommend the facility should your needs require this for a loved one.
