Truewood by Merrill, Park Central

My mother is very happy living there. Her apartment is lovely. She's 96 and doesn't realize all the problems I've had with them as far as communication. I don't know what the other tenants do, that don't have someone watching after them Front Desk Staff and kitchen helpers are so friendly they get a 5 star but management more like a 2 star. My mom has not been involved and there has been no effort from anyone on staff to try to get her to do so. Although that was part of their selling "pitch". At the time I moved my mother there in [date removed] , I felt like it was a good value. I understand they are going to be raising everyone's pricing. So not sure how that's going to go yet. We are very lucky at this moment that she does not need a lot of care. The new owners took over a couple of months ago and I had high hopes that things could be much better. There is still a lack of communication between the managers, business office, etc. luckily, [name removed], who is at the front desk is one of the few original employees and she is great. She seems to know things that none of the new people know. I do realize from what I hear, that the new people are still trying to clean up the mess The old people left behind.

It was a difficult process to actually get moved in. The person who was responsible for that is no longer with the company. There was a lot of back and forth, so we had a very stressful move in process. After moving in, it's still not always pleasant. There are things they still need to take care of and there's no urgency to resolve those issues like leaky windows, etc.

Truewood by Merrill is a fantastic facility. They could improve on the their response time to things I've requested of them. I need specific information from them so that I can provide feedback to another entity; for benefits I need. I've brought this to their attention and they said they would get it to me ASAP, but that was over a month ago. Aside from that, everything else has been great.

I thought it was a very good choice. It is a very nice facility and the staff is super helpful. The price point is also great especially for that area and compared to everything else we looked at. I would recommend Truewood by Merrill to others.

The care takers are so wonderful, they are not only so attentive to our loved one but also to our family. The dining room staff is incredible, and the receptionist is phenomenal. We can always count on her to get back to us with any questions or concerns that we have. Our only issue is with the management - they are recently going through changes so the communication is pretty bad right now. The community though is very nice and well worth the money, our loved one has a really nice apartment with a bedroom and living room.

We chose Truewood by Merrill at the time because of the value for the money. I do think that the staff could be a little more patient with the residents based off of what I have heard from my friend. Overall I think they do a pretty good job, there are just some little things that have happened.

I would recommend them to others looking.

Truewood community is beautiful, that really stood out to us on our initial tour. The staff members are very friendly, and we would absolutely recommend this community to others.

I would suggest it. The cost is good, and I feel like my loved one is safe. It's in a good area. The staff that I've met are pretty nice. Nothing I can say as far as any improvements to make.

I would tell others that it is a great bang for the cost, compared to other communities. The maintenance is good. Everything they said they would deliver on they have delivered. There are a few things we are working on getting my loved one more settled into the community with their help.

We've experienced friendliness from the staff. They respond very quickly when you ask for anything to be done in the apartment. Their maintenance is right at the top. The caregivers are very kind and very helpful. It's just like every business right now, they're suffering from not being able to get enough help. They try their very best. It's just hard to get caregivers. We know we can't expect them to cater to us specifically because they have lots of other people to take care of too. But they're always doing the best job. I appreciate so much what they do. There's just simply not enough of them. Sometimes we have to wait a little for assistance, but other times we don't. One of the dining servers has gone out of his way to push my husband back to our apartment. He's gone above and beyond his role a couple times now to do that for us. I really like living here. We have one of the largest apartments here, so that's nice. It's well maintained. We asked for wood floors, and they gave us wood floors. I asked the housekeeper when I got here if the old carpet was on top of the floors. She said that she had sanitized everything before they laid the wood floors down. One of the rooms has floor to ceiling windows, since this used to be a hotel, and she said the drapes were all sanitized before we moved in. I asked her a ton of questions about the apartment before we got there, and I know she was telling me the truth. She's been here nine years. Some of the caregivers have been here over a year. And only one has left since I've been here, only because she got a job closer to where she lived. I figure they don't get paid a lot, so I make sure to tell them every day how much I appreciate their work. I'm so grateful for what they do. They do the laundry once a week. When it comes back it's all folded and nice. There's a washer/dryer on each floor if you prefer to do your own laundry. The housekeeper comes once a week, mops every one of these floors, cleans the bathrooms real good, including the showers. And we have two full baths. She empties the trash out. If I put my trash out in the hallway any day of the week, it gets picked up no matter the day. They're on top of everything, including the medical care we receive. And they treat all of the residents the same. It doesn't matter how much money you have or don't have. I think the people here are trustworthy, and I've never noticed anything missing. I just can't tell you enough how nice these caregivers are. I'm very happy here and so thankful to be here.

It was an awesome, but the price did not include the food. She is checking to see if we can get a ref bedroom for the price of the smaller one until the small one comes available. Have not heard from her yet. Beautiful place

BEWARE of this facility! Windsor sent my mother to the hospital where she was found to be malnourished. She died 3 days later. Windsor then refused to release my mother's records to the family. After getting an attorney, Windsor claimed they were not a medical facility and therefore weren't required to keep records. Put your loved ones here at your own risk!! BEWARE of this facility and staff members Bennie (Director) and Wendi (nursing supervisor).

My ratings are prior to COVID. The activities were wonderful before COVID, as well. I would highly recommend this community. Windsor is a really nice place for a reasonable cost. The food was ok for my loved one.

i think in general it is a caring staff. The apartments have great size rooms. they renovated the common areas, and it is easy for residents to get around. I chose this community because we had other family members they have been them before, and their cost is pretty reasonable compared to others that we looked at. The caregivers in memory care seem great. I would absolutely recommend this community to other families.
