Walnut Place welcomes seniors to a modern, homelike ambience north of downtown Dallas, Texas. Since 1980, the community has been provided independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation for people 55+. Have peace of mind knowing a hospital is across the street, with additional medical facilities and other hospitals within 10 miles of the community. Between a shopping mall, botanical garden, and museums, seniors have access to a variety of nearby activities and outings.
Attend medical appointments or stock up on food from the store through the community’s scheduled transportation. Relax in the sun with other residents on the spacious brick courtyard. Beyond the chef-prepared meals served in the formal restaurant-style dining area, some residents have access to the community’s cafe.

We toured Walnut Place and it was a great tour experience. There were a few different reasons behind why we chose another community. Parking was very important for my dad, and Walnut had very limited parking which didn't seem available all the time. At that time we were also going to move my mom into their rehab facility, but they rejected her without realizing that her and my dad were together. They came back and accepted her, but we had already settled on another community by then.

My family’s experience with Walnut Place is nothing short of exceptional. Kudos to the entire staff. But, I would especially like to acknowledge one particular staff member, (name removed). (name removed) goes above and beyond her job description of Director of Admissions. Yes, she makes sure the admission process goes very smoothly. However, she doesn’t stop there. (name removed) follows up with the family and keeps in contact on a regular basis. Whenever you see her in the halls she greets you by your family name and takes a few minutes to catch-up and visit. You can expect nothing less from (name removed) and the rest of the staff at Walnut Place. Thank you everyone!

Walnut Place has done a great job so far, the cleanliness of the community really stood out to us as well as the view the residents have looking out the windows. The staff are friendly and have good communication, the meals are not fine dining they are alright but as far as we know the activities are really good.

The caregivers that work here are overworked and understaffed. I was disappointed with the administration. There was a call I got from administration, and called back them back several times with no answer. I finally spoke to a social worker to assist with setting up hospice for my loved one three days. The administration is friendly and helpful prior to move-in, but after there is no follow up with our concerns.

I recently found out that [name removed] from activities has been here for 30 years. I find that to be very admirable and impressive. As resident council president I am very pleased with how activities run on our floor. I enjoy the snacks we receive when playing bingo.

This is an excellent place that I would recommend to anyone. It is very clean and staff is excellent. I have certainly enjoyed my stay. Even the food is excellent.

My brother was here for 12 days and was treated so poorly. We got there and we were given a room number, no one greeted us at his room, we had to find someone to help us. We had no idea what to expect. He was quarantined to his room for 10 days, which we were not aware that would be the case, he sat in that room with physical therapy twice a day, not sure if it was everyday, memory therapy a few times a week. He had 2 showers in that time and we had to ask for that to be done along with his bed sheets to be changed several times. A male nurse came in to change his diaper, he doesn't wear a diaper. The nurses do not visit the residents unless you need something. The Assistant Director of Nursing came in to visit after a few days, said she would check on him, make sure everything would be comfortable for him, his never saw her again. I had to text with her for a few issues, never a phone call nor a visit to check on him. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy...

Since I have made Walnut Place my new home, it was not what I expected. It was more. All that I wanted in a new place I find here and thanks to the senior advisor [name removed] my transition from the facility I was released from was perfect. I have been well received by all.

I have lived here since February 2020. I have enjoyed as much as I can for all the world is going through. I have my dog and my room is very comfortable. The staff is very professional and friendly, they care for my well-being and comfort. I love living here.

This place has been a lifesaver since I moved in. I have met friends and even though the virus has interrupted a lot of getting together, we still occasionally get together and have a good time. The staff is always friendly and helpful. When there is occasionally a problem, the staff is quick to try to fix it. Whether it be with the other tenants or something concerning the apartment.
