Brookdale Galleria

My family member loves it there so far. The staff are very attentive. In your search, I recommend looking at the length of time that the employees have been there. At Brookdale Galleria, they have a lot of 10-plus year employees. They seem happy and seem to want to be there, and they do a good job.. The apartment is cute. She has two patios, one off the kitchen and one off the bedroom. Currently they have a mix of renovated and nonrenovated apartments, so you can choose depending on your preference. They also have a dedicated, fenced-in dog walking area.

The good: valet staff are great. [name removed] in Reception is outstanding. Food is very good. Nurses aides during the day are wonderful. The PT & OT teams are top notch. The bad: If your loved one needs any health care stay away. Some nurses are great but the night &wkend staff are lazy. They dont follow written drs or hospital staff directions that are communicated via phone, in person & in writing, the medical staff does not communicate with family & nurses & administrative lie continually. Any medical issue or emergency takes forever to be addressed & dont notify family. The ugly:You cant trust a word that comes out of skilled nursing & admin staff mouths. They take zero responsibility & seem offput if you request the minimum of care. Most family's don't want to pay [amount removed] per month only to have loved one ignored . Things are rarely done unless you go higher up. It is exhausting. Higher ups say they take these things seriously but look at other reviews on the web...same issues for years.

Only one floor of assisted living and no memory care. [Name removed] would not like being in a setting that looks like apartments and would never leave her door open to visit with neighbors. She is a very private person. The view from the room offered was not nice.

My friend was there for rehab. I needed to pay his bill for Brookdale Spring Shadows and asked if I could give it to them. Three weeks later I received a bill with a $250.00 late fee. They mailed the bill to my friend at Spring Shadows when he was down the hall from them, instead of sending it to a business office. I asked about the check and the a man (who I later learned was the directer) took both of my phone numbers and said he would look into the matter. He never called me. No one in the business office knew anything about the check. When the check finally arrived in September at Spring Shadows I made an appointment with the Director at the Galleria. When I arrived for my appointment he was "off campus." He didn't had the courtesy to have someone call me to cancel the appointment. The business manager was very unprofessional and rude. He asked me, "What do you want me to do?" and not in a nice voice. I asked to see the Martha, the laundry manager (4 pants were missing) and was kept waiting for over 40 minutes. She never came and no one ever said anything to me. Don't let them do your laundry!

My mom was just discharged from the skilled nursing facility. The care is terrible and uncoordinated. My mother developed a blood clot post surgery and they did NOTHING for 2 weeks, despite my questions. The nurses, doctors and physical therapy staff do not coordinate care and point the finger at each other. They made medication errors on more than one occasion. Some of the nurses are good, but most just treat it as an income source and simply dont care about patients' recovery at all. So happy to get her out of this place!

The staff were nice but the building was old and tired. The biggest issue is the location both from accessibility and freeway NOISE. Cannot see how this would work for us.

We toured at Brookdale while looking for a new place for my loved one. This community is very nice, and they have a great sales team. However, for my loved one, the community was too fancy. She just did not feel it would be the best fit for her.

We toured this community. We like the staff and the community. The menu was appealing and they do offer a nice list of activities. We would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a loved one. This community is not in the area of where we wanted to locate, but it is very nice.

I'am really enjoying my time here at this community, it is a really nice facility. My husband, and I moved in here together. Unfortunately he has since passed, but the hospice care did a great caring for him, and his needs. I'am pleased with all they have done for us. They are treating me like a queen. everyone is very kind. The only issue I have, is that the dining service is a little slow. Other than that issue, this is a community I would recommend.

I would recommend the community to family and friends. My father has been doing very well. He has mentioned that the meals are good and the portions are good. The staff is friendly and they have good communication with the family. The community is up-kept and clean. Activities are offered on site to the residents. Overall it's a clean place with attentive staff.

My mother is doing well here at this community. I'am pleased with all they have done for us. Everybody has been very kind and accommodating. The staff is great, they have been good to work with. They do a very good job with the cleaning. There are nice activities offered. They offer salon trips to my mother salon, and that is very convenient. I know she is being cared for well. I would highly recommend this community.

It's a great place to be. The one problem is the personalized care, they can't seem to get it right, I have had multiple errors and miscommunications, and they left my door unlocked twice. The other residents are friendly, and everything else is great.

The people who work here are wonderful. Maintenance is fairly quick as they have a whole building to deal with. Maid service is once a week, very much appreciated. There is a kitchen in every apartment, but you wouldn't need it as there are 3 meals a day, with Brunch on Sunday. Valet parking is a plus. It's close to everything in the Galleria area, very nice and I would recommend it to anyone. I'm only here temporarily as I just moved to Houston and am looking for a home to rent.

The Brookdale Galleria has a very friendly and caring staff, all the way through every staff member. It is obvious that they are a caring staff and you is easily recognizable when attending to the residents.

I was very pleased with all the support for my father-in-law and my family from Brookdale Galleria. From the tour to move in day, Kendal made us feel comfortable and made the decision to move Bob to Brookdale easy. The Assisted Living Staff and the office staff were all extremely professional. During the past 20 years I have had love one's in eight different facilities. I have not seen the genuine caring for the elderly that I saw at Brookdale. I would not hesitate to recommend Brookdale in the future.

At the moment at Brookdale Galleria I get the impression that the workers running the assisted living are new at their jobs. I am rushing right now to get prescriptions filled since they ran out today. I am paying $500 a month just for them to manage that and it is not happening. I am paying for them to monitor her showers 4 or 5 times a week and that was wasn't happening. I think they are trying. With independent living they had everything laid out for you. Because she was going to go into independent living. They had a list of services and how much it cost. With assisted living it was all computerized and completely not transparent. They need to be more upfront and there needs to be a list of services and what they cost. Also when you get ready to go into assisted living you aren't aware that there are not nurses around. You just don't know they wont take your vital signs. You just don't know everything going it. I will say all but 2 or 3 of the people have been earnest and nice. They haven't always succeeded but they have tried.

They have really above and beyond to help out in any way that they can and make it an excellent stay for my mother. They are all very professional and courteous. Most importantly, my mother is very happy there. They have done nothing at all to disappoint us. I love and very highly recommend Brookdale Galleria.
