They're short of help, all the way around. That's the main challenge. Sometimes it's hard to find a nurse on the nursing floor. But I really like the assisted living building. They're very good with their activities and keeping their people up to date on things. I had one relative move to the wellness center from assisted living, and I would not do that if you can avoid it. They don't have the activities, and they're kind of isolated in wellness.

My name is [name removed] and I have lived here at Oak Trace for almost a year now. After a very easy move into the building thanks to the services that Oak Trace provided, I quickly felt at home. They take fabulous care of us. I love my apartment and the layout is perfect for my needs. The unit cleaning that is completed is very helpful & thorough. The food is fantastic and is very convenient. I especially like that the menu changes on a daily basis and there are a variety of delicious choices always provided. In addition to the food, they have a variety of classes and group activities here at Oak Trace, as well as a bus that is available to take us around town to a variety of outside activities such as movies, plays, grocery shopping, and other recreational activities. There are also multiple exercise options which were very important to me when considering my move. There are programs on TV, in person group classes, as well as a fitness room for our convenience. With the Coronavirus, many of these options have been changed, but the staff here at Oak Trace have taken fabulous care of us during this time, there are temperature checks, extra cleaning, increased social distancing, and TV alerts instilled to keep us safe. I have felt very safe here, and have been more than happy with my move.

My parents recently moved to Oak Trace, and I want to express my gratitude and compliments to the administration and staff. Everyone was so very helpful and accommodating throughout the process. And the Honoring Aging people were exceptional in coordinating the actual move details. My parents, of course, were anxious and emotional with the necessary life changes, however, quickly became very comfortable once their apartment was so quickly organized, and staff and residents made them feel so welcome! Thanks much to everyone for a very smooth transition in a very stressful time!

It's apartment living in a luxury hotel with a friendly, caring staff. I love the location in the middle of a residential area, away from industry and traffic but close to shopping.

I toured Oak Trace while looking at living options for my father. I liked the community and thought it was very nice, but it seemed too institutional for me. I was looking for a place that was more comfortable with a bright, cheery feel, and I just didn’t find that at Oak Trace.

Response from Oak Trace a CCRC
November 7, 2017We appreciate your feedback. We have recently embarked on a multi-million-dollar redevelopment and expansion. This project will add a brand new health center, approximately 160 new residential living apartments, and numerous amenities such as private courtyards, dining options and a fitness center and spa. If you’d like any additional information on this project, or you’d like to come back for another visit, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
This retirement facility has been the worse experience. #Neglect, unresponsive and understaffed#...The staff is not responsive when in need. Was given a instant ice pack that was used after 3 days of asking for one, when the vitals were taken by the nurses aid it was wrapped around my elbow so the vitals showed being very low. The food is horrendous, cold and unappealing. Ask for a raised toilet seat, didn't receive it until 2 days later. Didn't receive pain medication after 12 hours of being admitted. There was a man screaming "HELP for at least 20 minutes but no response. I went out my door to see what the problem was and the cleaning lady said "there is no one here to HELP so there was nothing she can do". Do NOT go to this place of DOOM it will mentally make you feel very ill, you will not recover because of it.

Mom had such a wonderful experience at Oak Trace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided an excellent level of care. The community is well kept and maintained very well. Mom would still be here if they had an intermittent level of care between assisted living and skilled nursing.

My father was in this facility recovering from a stroke. The CNA's and social worker were wonderful. That is the only nice thing I can say about this facility. It was dirty, smelled, and was run down. The nursing staff was horrible! Very unfriendly and no one followed through on anything. He was supposedly seen by a Dr. daily but this Dr. was never seen. Medications were not given as needed. My father was never given a shower unless we BEGGED for him to be given one. He was left on his own to feed himself even though he had paralysis and feeding was difficult. Therapy staff never followed through on requests, equipment was never ordered or was lost. Do not send your loved one to this facility.

January 13, 2015We're so sorry your father's experience at Oak Trace was not a pleasant one; we certainly pride ourselves on providing a resident and family experience that is much different from the one you describe. Please reach out to me at [removed]. I'm speaking with our team members to provide you with additional information and determine how we can make this right. Your father's health and well-being are important to us. Thanks for your feedback. Sincerely, Lisa Ryan, Director of Communications; Lifespace Communities
Mom's got some dementia and we have had some problems with communication. Everything else we are happy with. There is plenty of space to walk around. We visited fourteen places and we like this one the best. Of course, she was there three months and they raised the rent. All the other things are four to five.

It's great. My mom loves it! Everything is just perfect for her. The cleanliness is a 6! It's still sticker shock, the whole thing, but from what I've seen I think the value is still good. Overall, it's exactly what she though she was getting into.
