Response from The Palazzo
October 25, 2022Hi Cheryl, We are thrilled to hear you are happy with experience for your parents at The Palazzo. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with others. We greatly appreciate it.
It was tough in the first 90 days for my in-laws because of COVID. They had to quarantine and the food was not up to standards because it was delivery only. Now that things are getting back to normal, they should be feeling better and better about Palazzo.

Response from The Palazzo
August 23, 2022Thank you for your review. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss further. All managers eat lunch at The Palazzo so we dine on the same meals as the residents which ensures we have good quality controls in place plus it allows us to taste the same food as our residents so I would be happy to hear your thoughts on this matter. I also like to share that not only do I work at The Palazzo, but my dad lives here in independent living so I have the opportunity to see the community from both angles - as an employee and as a family member. Thank you!!
Where the residents, would be is in a separate building than the dining room and activities.
I toured The Palazzo and administration was very nice & informative. The girl who I was working with asked if I or anyone I knew had been in the military. I informed her that my second husband was a lifer, and she said I should check into that. Because of her, I found that while I'm living in independent living I'll have to foot the bill; but when I move over to assisted living have to pay they'll cover it. I chose another community because I didn't like that The Palazzo had carpet everywhere. It didn't look healthy or clean.
Response from The Palazzo
August 23, 2022Hello, as a veteran, you may have benefits that assist in your paying for independent living as well as assisted living. You should contact the VA to discuss. You commented that there's carpet everywhere, but that confuses me. Our apartments are all newly renovated with new flooring - no carpet and most of our common area have tile/flooring. We do have new carpet in the lobby, but once you pass the lobby in either direction, the floors are tiled. Please visit our virtual tour on our website to confirm for yourself that what I am saying is accurate. Thanks again for visiting The Palazzo.
This reviews only pertains to the memory care area. First, the smell once you get to the memory care area is stomach churning. Second, they are understaffed and most staff there doesn’t seem to care anyway! There are probably so many falls and injuries that go unreported. This place almost killed my grandmother! The residents in this area are no longer able to remember things so they can’t explain how they have major bruising or what happened so no one is held accountable. If staff does not have patience they have no business working with these vulnerable people. Arizona needs to step it up for our elderly!

Response from The Palazzo
May 24, 2022We’re very sorry to hear about your experience at The Palazzo and the conditions you describe are unacceptable. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can learn more about your grandmother’s situation.
The best part about The Palazzo is the staff. I think the location is suitable for the people who are staying there. It's close to a lot of things that are of interest to those in the community. Overall, it's a really good value. Really the only issue is my loved one tells me the food is pretty bland.

Response from The Palazzo
March 9, 2022Thank you for your compliments. I encourage you to return and try our food. Our management team eats lunch here every day so while we dine on the same food offered to our residents, we provide our feedback on what we enjoy and what we would like to see more of on the menu. Since food is so subjective, there are times when when describes the food as bland, others comment that there's too much flavor. This is why we offer an extensive variety to choose from. Thanks again for your comments.
I would not recommend to send your loved one to this community. Looks can be deceiving.

I liked The Palazzo, but they asked for a whole lot more money financial information during the touring process than other places I looked at.
Response from The Palazzo
October 18, 2021Thank you for your reply. We don't require any financial information, but will have that discussion upon family request or upon informing the prospect/family that we are an ALTCS approved community. Therefore, one of the benefits of living at The Palazzo is providing comfort that if someone were to run out of private funds to pay to live here, they could get approved by ALTCS and have the ability to stay while being covered by the program.
I was not super impressed by our tour. The facility felt high end, but I did not think it seemed the cleanest. It was very pricey. This tour was during covid though, so it may have been more limited.
Response from The Palazzo
October 7, 2021Thank you for your review and for recognizing that you visited during COVID. We pride ourselves on being a resort-style community with affordable prices and as a result, we are always reviewing our rates vs. those of our nearby competitors. I encourage you to return to our community and revisit our rates as I am sure you will see that you will find no other community with as many amenities, as newly renovated or offering as spacious apartments having rates as reasonable as we do. As far as the cleanliness, when you return, you will notice that your first visit's impressions were not reflective of the community we truly are. Thank you.
This community is very good. They provide for the basic needs of there residents. Most of the staff are very dedicated and caring to the residents of the community. This is a very good facility for the type and I am happy this is where my friend is. It is very clean.

Response from The Palazzo
December 5, 2021Thank you for your kind words. It is our goal to do our best to make our residents and their family feel welcome and well cared for. We appreciate that you noticed our efforts.
They work with our family when our loved one is difficult at times, and they seem to be very patient. Our move-in went very smoothly. Our loved one doesn't care particularly care for the food. But they offer a lot of great activities if you choose to participate. It is very expensive though.

I searched many places in Phoenix area for an assisted living place for my sister. When I found the Palazzo I was amazed at the facility, services they offer and the incredible staff. My sister moved in there and we are all thrilled that The Palazzo is even BETTER than we expected! The apartments are very nice and spacious, all of them have a patio or balcony. The grounds are kept very nicely, so being outside is enjoyable. The staff, particularly [names removed] are so helpful and pleasant. It seems like everyone has gone out of their way to make my sister welcome. The food is mediocre which is the only downside to Palazzo. The selection of alternative choices which were promised on signing are not available. I recommend this amazing place to anyone!

The community is very clean, everything has been A+ perfect, except for the food. Sometimes our loved one says it is really good and other times not so good, which could be because the dining room is closed. Sometimes our loved one has to go down and ask for bigger portions. From our understanding the library, chapel and activities room is open, but with the covid restrictions the activities are very limited.

Walked out without a tour. The woman at the front desk was talking sternly and a little too aggressively with a resident who missed the shuttle. I would be so unhappy if someone spoke to my mother like that.
