The people are very friendly. It's a clean facility. They're just having a problem with their kitchen right now. They're understaffed, so my person is not necessarily getting what he wants to eat.

There have been some issues with the care. Long call bell responses My loved one fell out of bed and was sent to the ER and they did not contact the family even though they said they did. Poor communication on medical care coordination. A couple of medical issues have not been properly handled.

It's socially a really good place to be, which is important. The residents can have their own private room. There is also, the option to have a roommate, which helps to keep down the costs. They provide different levels of care.

Our family had an in person tour and we did really like The Terrace, it was a great overall experience
The everyday staff have been kind, attentive, and caring. [name removed] is excellent and very accessible and her attitude is so positive and enthusiastic. This sets the bar high for the rest of the staff to be care forward towards the residents. [name removed] has always been accessible to answer my questions. The staff make sure to participate with the residents and they are well trained. The nursing staff are well trained, and have always been attentive towards the residents and families. They were very helpful during the transition of prescriptions being sent from the doctor office to the community. The maintenance staff keeps the community very clean. Singing, arts and crafts, field trips, cocktail hour, and more are some of the activities for the residents to participate in. There are family days which is very nice as well.

I would not recommend this facility. We showed up and outside there were cigarette butts all over. It was filthy when we went in and the tables were all sticky and it smelled like urine. We saw the room and it was very tiny and only had one small window so it was practically dark. Everything is an add on price. We did not see any residents while touring and we found the person we spoke with to be unprofessional.
From the first time we went and visited to after my family member was placed, The Terrace was amazing. [Name removed] the Executive Director took us under her wing like we were a family member, as did the rest of the staff. I would tell anybody - and in fact I already have - if you need a place, Terrace at Chestnut Hill is the place to go.

There has been a change in chefs and this has caused some inconsistencies in the food from my understanding. There is a full calendar of activities for the residents to participate in, if they choose to. I would encourage you to visit and visit with the residents to see if this would be a good fit for your loved one.

I was looking for a place that could help with my loved one's care needs, and I think he is getting good care here. I like the building itself, and the location is wonderful. He enjoys the outdoors and nature, and the facility provides that very well for him. It's clean. I like the fact that I'm able to have conversations with the staff, and they provide me with good answers. The staff are very responsive, respectful, and genuinely helpful. They go out of their way to help whenever they can. I think that they're paying attention to my loved one and his needs, and they do a good job. Whoever is in the kitchen is doing a good job with the food as well, and my loved one is lucky to have that provided to him. It's certainly a worthwhile place to take a look at.
The family is happy when we go to visit our loved one, we know he is being treated well. So far based on our experience we would recommend this community to others. For our first impression it was nice to see how attentive the workers are towards their clients.

For a place that has 105-122 capacity, the are not bringing in many new residents. Not many visitors to participate in activities. If you do place your loved one here, you must check on them ALOT!!!! The building is nice, but there were constant problems with the Executive Director regarding issues of communication and accountability. We had to file a complaint with the Center For Aging and the Pa Attorney General's Office. If you look at their Facebook page, it's the same people in every picture. They have potential but based on a family member's stay there, I would never recommend them unless the Terrace was in a family's price range....

We had tours at several different communities, and they were all great. The folks at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill did a great job with our tour. They answered all of our questions. Nothing was held back. They were very honest and forthright.
For our loved one, it seems to have worked out. It's always clean there, and the staff is pleasant. Our loved one has no complaints.

They were awesome. I liked the way that it was set up. It was very clean and tidy. The people were courteous. The cost was a little bit higher here, but this was my first choice. My loved one knew people at a different place though, so she chose to go there.
I would tell others that the administrative staff I worked with were excellent and very responsive. But the medical side of it, I did not think he got the quality of care that he needed while he was here. I do know they have new staff but it is taking time for them to rebuild what was lacking. I was not pleased with our experience but I would tell others to check it out and decide based on your loved ones needs are.

The price is right and you get what you pay for. Communication is pretty good between the staff and the family and they do return calls quickly. I would recommend this community to others if the price is an issue for your family

The downstairs of the community was always clean, when you went upstairs it wasn't clean to the hallway wise. The residents' room wasn't clean. I found my mom with human feces on her, with a breakfast tray next to her. Everything is good, except for the memory care. You don't have any single room, and the community told me they could handle memory care. She is then put in a room with another person. Her stuff was with the other resident in the room. The price went up, and there was no place for family in the room. The room always smelled like urine because of the roommate. When my mom had a TV because the beds had to be side by side, and my mom couldn't see it. The rooms were small. The staff was overworked, and had more rooms than they could cover.

Our mom came here in Feb 2019. She has dementia, but medication has helped her manage her behavior. She walked, talked and danced when she came in February. She was in Personal care, but enjoyed going to dances in Memory care. She started using a walker early April and then she fell later in April. She was first sent to the hospital and then to rehab. That's when we learned she suffered muscle weakness due to lactic acidosis because she laid on her side for a long time. In rehab she walked with a walker, but with someone behind her, as she feared falling again. She came back to personal care at the Terrace in early May, but we all agreed she needed to move to memory care for full care. New mgt took over mid June. Things started to go downhill. Staff not responding to phone calls, concerns, etc. Our mom shared a room, as this was all they had in memory care. Finally in early August she moved into her own room on a different floor. That's when the new floor's aide noticed she had a blister, covered with a band aid. We knew nothing about it. No real explanation given. Our mom became incontinent because she would call for bathroom assistance that didn't come in time. We would find urine drenched clothes in her hamper. Urine stained sheets on her bed. She doesn't even try to walk anymore, just stays in her wheelchair. On [date removed] my sister and I were both visiting. We assisted our mom to the bathroom and saw she had a bedsore. I went to get the nurse in charge and the memory care director. Both said they knew nothing about it. How can that be? Our mom has full care. Someone is bathing her, dressing her, changing depends. We called the new Director that day. When she finally called back she was defensive and rude. I waited until Friday for her to follow-up. She didn't, so I called again. She called back and had no info as to how this happened. Finally Wound Dr came that Monday and said she has a stage 2 bedsore. That blister we saw in August was stage 1. He had to debride the area and gave treatment instructions. This is so not a place to put your parent. Our mom went from walking and dancing, to a fall that left her scared to walk, then a bedsore, dirty linens and weight loss. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
