Overall, we've had a good experience here so far. It's a good facility, no complaints from mom. I feel comfortable knowing they look after her well and look out for her. The staff has been friendly, nice, and helpful. Housekeeping and laundry are weekly and they collect trash daily, all is good there. They do have activities, my mom just chooses not to participate very often. Communication with the family is great. The biggest challenge for us has been with the food. It's a kosher facility and we knew that before she moved in. It's just been a challenge because mom isn't used to kosher eating. Not saying the food is bad, by any means. Just a different style that she's not used to. But again, we knew that from the start. So no fault to the facility on that. It's a warm cozy facility on a private street with a great view. I would recommend them to family and friends.... Read more

The person we met with on the tour was extremely nice, helpful and answered all of our questions. Aesthetically the dining room is beautiful and the community is a very lovely place. The few times we have been there the meals seem to be pretty good. Our loved one does not always participate in activities but when have seen the activities list and it looks great. We are planning on going there ourselves so we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

I found that some of the aids were kind of rough with the residents -especially my loved one. As far as I could see the activities for people in the memory care unit were different from the rest of the community and they were not able to participate at all. I don't feel that communication between the staff and family of the residents was very good - they could definitely improve on that. They communicated very well in the beginning but once we got in it was very hard to get a hold of anyone. The renovated the rooms but not the bathrooms and those definitely need updated. The location is great and it has potential.

I would tell others that it has been mostly a positive experience for us at The Waterford on the Bay. The staff have been pretty good to work with if we have questions or concerns. Bathing, toileting, and hygiene is care provided for my loved one. I'm finding the family is having to initiate, a lot of the care items; however, the community is receptive to this. My loved one likes the food that provides kosher food for the residents. There are specified meal times for them to eat.

The first couple of weeks was a big adjustment not only for our loved one but for our family, and so far The Waterford has been a great experience. Our loved one needed a hospital bed very quickly and I think it took them less then 2 days to get a bed in his room. From what we have seen of the community it is very clean, and the staff are great. They are so attentive to him, always checking in and keeping in good communication with us. Other communities who kept reaching out to us wanted a nickel and dime for everything which was very upsetting to us, and The Waterford is all inclusive which we really like. Overall we have been very impressed.

It was a good fit for my loved one. The communication was very good with the staff and families. I would like to see the meals be varied more often. On the weekends they had kosher meals. They had the same cold items on the weekends.

This community was the best value for the money in the area we needed. They were very helpful getting my loved one admitted and have been straightforward with info. My loved one seems content here. Communication is not the best and it can be difficult to get ahold of someone. I am still trying to find out who we speak to and how to keep in communication with. I am happy with the care and think you concider the community
That value of this community is very good, they had excellent activities before COVID, some of those were games in the afternoon like jeopardy. They also brought in live entertainment that would sing songs to the residents. The diversity of the staff stood out to us. Our loved one has almost like a studio room which is nicely appointed.

I would tell my friends that it is pricey, but it is worth it. You get high quality of care and services. I would recommend this community. My loved ones haven't complained about the food, but they aren't picky either. The room is great. My loved one has a view of the ocean. They get to see the boats come in and out.

There were several outside vendors that would come in and really connected with the residents. The community was always very clean and the staff is all very friendly. We always saw the staff interacting with the residents and they really seemed to care for them, although it seemed like they could have used a few more care givers. For us, we were with our mother-in-law every day, so we were always able to help attend to her. They did a good job with her care, although if your loved one needed a high level of attention they were a little light. The staff, however, is tremendous and our overall experience here was positive. The food is very ok. It was better when my mother-in-law first got there, but after a change in the kitchen staff, it was not quite as good. The community itself is beautiful and right on the water. They were also receptive to us bringing in outside aids to help her with things like physical therapy.

Our mother is a resident on the Dementia unit at Waterford on the Bay. We are extremely happy with her care. The staff watches her and makes sure she is clean, well dressed and comfortable. The staff from the kitchen allowed us to pick Mom's favorite foods. If she requests something else, they accommodate her. She likes her Italian food and loves their ravioli. The facility is always protecting all residents and with new Pandemic Virus has limited visiting hours. Mom is respected. She is often fearful and may respond inappropriate to care as she is hard of hearing, blind and in a wheel chair. The staff know her and discuss what they plan to do and why. This approach works best and Mom is cooperative. We feel we have chosen well for Mom. Mom has been at Waterford on the Bay for a year now.

I have a friend residing at Waterford on the bay in Brooklyn and sad to say I would not recommend this Facility. When you take your loved ones to these facilities you have to be there to hold them accountable. I can't write a review of the issues that I'm having with my friend because she resides there and I don't want any retaliation against her. I'm really upset about the situation because I chose that facility for her. I've also witness some treatment of her roommate that is not what I would expect for any resident of a assisted living facility. Some of the staff were very unprofessional and I think that housekeeping can do a better job.

[Name removed] was on vacation and [name removed] showed us the facility. [Name removed] was on a first name basis with all of the residents and it was obvious that it was like an extended family. This was the 2nd place we visited but told [name removed] that Aunt [name removed] had a deadline to vacate her present apartment and we would be getting back to her shortly.

I went to see this facility as my husband is in need of more care. The facility is beautiful and clean. The residents all look so well taken care of. The staff is so nice and the rooms are breathtaking. This is a hard time in my life and they were so patient with me and able to answer all my questions. If i could give more stars I would.

The facility seemed very sterile and institutional looking. It had a very strong odor of cleansing materials. Good to know that the facility is clean but it made it smell like a hospital, not a home. The furniture looked old, the walls needed painting, etc. All of the residents I saw were using some sort of walking device (canes, walkers, wheelchairs). My mom does not and I think it would be counter productive for her to see so many people less than mobile. The rooms seemed small and cramped. Lastly, while I know she would have some options available for meals, my mom is a picky eater and a heavily kosher menu would also be a problem for her.

We arrived without an appointment but the staff was still able to give us a tour. They were very accommodating. My 88 year old friend and I were not impressed by the size of the rooms or the layout of the facility. It felt like a glorified nursing home.

This is an outstanding and beautiful community for the care of a family member. We toured this community and liked the friendly and caring staff. The menu was appealing and a good healthy variety. The location would have been good for families members, but mom wanting some room for indoor smoking. We liked the activities that would have been an offer to her to participate. We would recommend this community for other families to tour for the care of a loved one.
